Club Rides

Club rides are organised for Sunday mornings throughout the year, and are open to non-members.  They are split into three different periods, each of which will be described in detail on the Diary section on our Home Page.

Autumn rides - every week from October to December - are more relaxed end-of-season affairs.  They will be around 50km.

Winter/Spring rides - every week from January to March - become more intense in the run-up to the competition season.  They will be between 50 and 70km.

Summer rides are less frequent, and are also more relaxed, normally being about 70km in length with a few hills thrown in.  Average speed will be about 25kph.

Club rides meant to be friendly, and are not hardcore training rides. So if you are slower up hills, then everybody will wait for you at the top.  And if you find that are weaker on the flats, then you can spend the whole ride out of the wind, and you won't be expected to take a turn at the front.  Rides may include a cafe stop, and that will be indicated on the Diary section on our Home Page.

All rides start from outside Terry's Cycles in Station Road at 9:00am sharp.  Please aim to be punctual to enable a timely departure, and ensure you bring sufficient food & drink, plus spare tubes and a pump!!!

Club Social Meetings

Club social and business meetings are held in the clubhouse (with a licensed bar!) at the Yate Outdoor Sports Centre. This facility is located behind Brimsham Park School adjacent to Goose Green Way, the northern ring road around Yate. There are plenty of road signs providing directions.

Meetings are generally held monthly, on the first Wednesday. Any variations to this will be indicated in the Diary section on our Home Page.
